ABOUT THE STATION
In 1889, The Marcus Daly Hook and Ladder Company was established. Its primary duty was to protect the properties owned by Marcus Daly, but also served the local community in times of great need. In 1895, the Anaconda City Hall was completed at 401 East Commercial Street and housed all city offices including the fire department, police station, and jail.
In 1896, the Anaconda Fire Department was established and replaced the Marcus Daly Hook and Ladder Company for city fire coverage. The AFD continued to operate out of 401 East Commercial Avenue until 1978 when the current station was built at 420 West Commercial Avenue. In 2007, the Anaconda Fire Department began operations of the county ambulance. Today, our first-responders are professionally trained to deal with fires, rescues, motor vehicle incidents, medical emergencies, and more.
